Recurring Schedule

The LiftMaster 8500W Jackshaft opener has a feature called "MyQ Scheduling" that allows you to set recurring schedules to open/close your garage door or turn lights on/off. You can use this feature, by registering a LiftMaster MyQ account and having the opener connected to your home Wi-Fi network. Once you have set up your account and connected your opener, you now can automatically operate your opener at the designated times.

Syncs With

The LiftMaster 8500W Jackshaft opener can be synced with Google Assistant and IFTTT (If This Then That) for added convenience and automation.

To sync with Google Assistant, you will need to have a Google Assistant-enabled device, such as a Google Home or Nest device, and a LiftMaster MyQ account linked to your Google Assistant account. Once you have linked the two accounts, you can use voice commands to open and close your garage door or check the status of your door.

To sync with IFTTT, you will need to have an IFTTT account and a LiftMaster MyQ account. Once you have linked the two accounts, you can create custom "applets" that automate certain actions, such as closing the garage door when you leave home or opening the door when you arrive home. There are many pre-made applets available, or you can create your own using the available triggers and actions.

Safety and Security

myQ Remote LED Light

The myQ Remote LED Light is an optional accessory for LiftMaster garage door openers and is built-in the 8500w Opener, it allows you to add lighting to your garage. This LED light can be easily installed in your garage and can be controlled using the myQ app on your smartphone or tablet.

Automatic Garage Door Lock

The LiftMaster 8500W Jackshaft opener comes equipped with an Automatic Garage Door Lock as a standard feature. The Automatic Garage Door Lock adds an extra layer of security to your garage by automatically locking your garage door when it closes.

When the garage door is closed, the Automatic Garage Door Lock engages a deadbolt that securely locks the door in place. This deadbolt is installed on the inside of the garage door and is attached to the opener's motor unit, so it cannot be disengaged from the outside.

Secure Code With Security+ 2.0 Feature

In LiftMaster garage door openers, Security+ 2.0 technology means that confidently that every click sends a secure code to your garage door opener. This technology uses advanced encryption and rolling code technology to prevent unauthorized access to your garage. When you press the remote control button, the Security+ 2.0 technology sends a new code to the garage door opener each time, making it nearly impossible for a hacker to intercept the code and use it to gain access to your garage.

The Security+ 2.0 technology is a standard feature on the LiftMaster 8500W Jackshaft opener, as well as many other LiftMaster garage door openers. This technology provides a high level of security and peace of mind for homeowners, knowing that their garage is protected against unauthorized access.

Safety Sensors

Safety sensors are an important safety feature found in most modern garage door openers, including the LiftMaster 8500W Jackshaft opener. These sensors are designed to prevent the garage door from closing on people, pets, or objects that may be in the door's path.

The safety sensors consist of two small devices that are mounted near the bottom of the garage door tracks, on either side of the door. One sensor emits an invisible beam of light, while the other sensor receives the beam. If something interrupts the beam while the garage door is closing, the sensors will send a signal to the opener's motor unit to stop and reverse the door's movement.

The LiftMaster 8500W Jackshaft opener features a system called "Protector System" that includes safety sensors and a safety reversing system. This system is designed to prevent the garage door from closing if an object or person is in the door's path. If the safety sensors detect an obstruction, the garage door will stop and reverse back to the fully open position.

Ceiling Space
